Pidgin 還可以新增兩個小插件，包括支持開始新版本 Live Messenger 8 的插件 pidgin-msnpecan，官方網站在Google code ，和聊天加密插件 pidgin-otr，OTR 的實用價值不算很大，因為要兩端都是用 pidgin 才會加密。
