XEPC.org 還原光碟 beta-3
October 1, 2008 – 6:59 pm終於等到華碩更新了 Eee Download 軟體修正好，可以新增軟體了，第三個 beta 版本都可以供大家下載使用，如果沒有重大的問題，這個就會成為正式版本。
這個版本的修改包括：
- Eee Download 更新，可以支援在華碩下載網站的新軟體。
- Firefox 更新到最近推出的 3.0.3，插件也一拼更新了。
- Eee PC 900 的聲音修正，主要參考 cwhuang 兄的方法，但是因為缺乏機器測試，如果遇到問題請回報。
- 開機或者休眠後再回來時可以自動連結到最近使用過的無線網路。
- 加入安全/私隱模式，系統會暫時使用記憶體來運行，就像第一次開機一樣，會有一些設定，完成後就可以使用，所有東西會在關機之後還原到安全/私隱模式之前的樣子。這個模式可以用來做小型的系統修正使用，例如當你改東西改完之後系統不穩，可以在安全模式中掛載 SSD或硬碟進行修復。在開機時按 F9 進入選單即可使用安全/私隱模式。

1000H 跟 901 的硬體在晶片上是一樣的，應該也可以支援到。

不用，還原光碟會把硬碟清空然後安裝的。

我的機是900,這個版本和上一個版本一樣無聲,fn key控制聲音無效.
又beta-1是有聲的,只是開機不能自動連上無線網路.

在終端機中打開 alsamixer 有沒有顯示什麼錯誤?
beta-1 跟 beta-2,3 的基層系統有不同，beta-1 用的是 1.6.0, beta-2,3 是 1.6.1.

touchpad patch 那個更新指向的檔案不存在，似乎是更新服務器的問題，其他更新都正常。

請問一下2個問題
1.設置好了之後便一直無法成功安裝無啥味(嘸蝦米)輸入法，不知可能為何原因?
之前使用7吋的版本都沒問題的，這次也特別去了gcin的討論區找了方法，卻一直不成功
2.在使用懶人包後，一度在易模式下可以看到一些軟體的icon(ex. PCmanX, amsn)
重開機後又都不見了，請問是何原因，如何解決?
二個問題，請不吝指教。

很奇怪當開了alsamixer, 按下Tab鍵後, master 變了 pcm ,將其推盡後聲音回來了.

Hi, I downloaded the iso file, now how do I install it via usb stick? I don’t have an external dvdrom.
I tried to extract the content in the iso file to my usb stick, then execute makeboot.bat, however, this does not seem to work.

Ok, I found the problem, if I extract everything to a SD card, boot and install from it, at the same time, another USB stick is plugged in, it finds the usb stick and install the system to the stick.
I guess it’s something to do with the configuration file.

Ok, I installed it, now how do I change the locale and interface to en_AU? Thanks a lot, it’s nice to see everything working.
However, there is still a problem, I’m not sure if your version modify the harddisk power management settings, I frequently hear harddisk clicking sound, I think I should check using “smartctl -a /dev/sda” and see if Load_Cycle_Count increasing too fast.

You can find information in eeeuser.com, basically we only have en_US locale except chinese, and you need to edit a file in /etc/kde/ to take full advantage of english localization.

Just installed on 701 myself.
2 issues:
1) There are 2 icons for ‘File Manager’ in (Work) tab
2) Is it possible to have the setup prompt for installing in chinese or english?

After switching to English (using ‘/opt/xandros/bin/locale_dialog’), starting (File Manager) shows lots of square character, since the menu is still trying to display in chinese (I can see the ‘File Manager’ written in chinese on top title bar)
Is there more I need to do to change the language from chinese -> english?

The 2 file managers are the same, it is not a problem, just because of the silly menu system…
There is a file /etc/kde3/kdeglobals need to be edited, change the “Language” parameter in the file to en_US.
Bos wars defaults to use a screen larger than 701 can handle, but you can only play it with external monitor, you can change the screen size in first play.

不好意思，我的 EEEPC (型號是 701SD，黃色鬼屋的白色有視訊的4G版本)
使用這個版本的光碟後，進入系統後居然觸控版連動都不動。勉強進入系統，發現抓不到無線網卡，也沒有抓到視訊(這二者我是確定有開)。
是我的這台不能使用這版還原光碟嗎？
ps.我的sources.list裡 的來源是 deb http://update.eeepc.asus.com/1.6 p704 main

My EEEPC 701 4G (with webcam) installed the beta 3 but found running not so smooth as the original disk. Open webpage need more time, the touch pad response is sluggish. Very easy to hang the programme (may be due to RAM issue, I had installed 1G RAM, when programme not response, the task manager show 888,888 KB used, 888,888 KB free) I return to the original disk and update with lazyeeepc 0.0.5 that performance is much better. It still will update the Firefox to 3.0 but of course it will consume your valuable disk space.

I found the new OS is a bit memory demanding, but it is not as bad as your case.
What is the OS version of original disk? You can see in the setting page, the version here is the latest 1.6 version.

關於webcam抓不到的問題，是我自己豬頭加上手賤自己又關上的(對不起T^T)，所以是沒問題的。
有關觸控版無法使用的問題(游標完全無法移動，左鍵很神奇的可以用，但右鍵沒得試)，我沒有找到觸控板的硬體資訊要如何才能提供？
網卡的話也只有抓到有線網卡，無線網卡在系統資訊裡看不到。
還須要提供什麼樣的訊息請麻煩再跟我說。不然原廠的東西實在是好舊= =，如果使用貴站提供的軟體庫，4g的小空間很快就爆掉了= =。
也有試過 lxde本，但很淒慘的網路都無法使用，雖然觸控板是正常的。
ubuntu eee 8.04.1 在各方都很ok 但最大的問題也是抓不到無線網路卡及WEBCAM(這是真的抓不到，不是唬人的)。

想不到 701SD 的硬體，竟然跟 701 不同，基本上就是 901 的硬體用上 701 的外殼。
不過還有一些東西要看，請在終端機裡面輸入 /sbin/lspci 看看硬體 ID。

終於將 beta-3 給裝上去了，感謝您的分享，讓我們一直都有更好的 EeePC 環境可以使用。
對於此新版有些問題想請教：
1.怎樣可以切換 “易模式” 跟 “進階模式”？
2.新酷音不見了，真難過。可以加回來嗎？
3.您最建議哪一版的 BIOS？我的是 701 4G 版。

果然是跟 701 至 1000 的硬體不一樣，900 或以下是用 Atheros wifi 的，901 或以上就用 Ralink，沒有機器在用 Realtek… 有待研究!

新版的 Eee PC 系統刪除了進階模式。
新酷音在原系統有沒有的? 我沒用過，不知道，但如果有的話可以加回去。
BIOS 用最新的就可以了，可以在 http://update.eeepc.asus.com/bios 看到。

I have tried to install Sopcast und Stardict, and then i have changed the simpleui.rc file, but the icon can not be seen at the Work or Play Site. I have also tried to use lazyeee to add Stardict, normally the icon will automatic be added after install, but it is dosen´t work. After install the simpleui.rc file is changed, but the icon is always not there. Can anyone help me? Thanks

There are two simpleui.rc files. One in /opt/…/asuslaunch. The other in /usr/var/…/asuslaunch. I make change in the second simpleui.rc and restart the epc, it works.

As far as I know, the menu system in the new version of Xandros (1.6.1) has a bit change, the lazyeeepc may need to change in order to add icon.
The new menu file is in /var/lib/ something, instead of /opt/

卻會發現firefox上會變成沒安裝flash
那是要安裝到哪裡
我有安裝在/home/user/.mozilla/下
不過好像沒有用

最近很沒空，有時間會測試 Flash 10。
不過估計要先刪掉 /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ 下面的 libflashplayer.so，重開機之後才安裝 Flash 10。
