XEPC upgrade CD-ROM - into a USB stick approach
March 23, 2008 - 12:55 am A busy few weeks, finally have the time to study the use USB flash drives do XEPC escalation of the media, the next version of the CD will need to upgrade the tools and settings are put in, so the next version of the upgrade CD-ROM can be directly burned Recorded to CD-ROM, USB flash drive can also be put to use.
Would like to pre-empt the trial can be grabbed this one compressed file, the next version does not need to do unzip step.
Here's how (to have a little bit of basic knowledge of Linux):
1. XEPC assumption has been upgraded to the ISO file and CD-ROM above the usb-upgrade-20080324.zip downloaded in the machine table / root, with your file names may be different examples of
2. The first upgrade CD-ROM ISO file loading (mount), so if Linux is to use a loop mount and the route is the mount-o loop / root / xepc.iso / mnt:
3. Good after loading in / mnt in the CD should be able to see the contents.
4. VFAT/FAT32 to have spent a formatted USB flash drive inserted into the machine table, this time it should be automatically loaded into / media of a directory, the USB flash drive with you on the Label, in my example is "USB", it will appear in the / media / USB /, do not know can enter the mount command look at the first note of the beginning of the / dev / xxx name, to later useful, in this example is / dev/sdc1.
5. If the above Eee PC manufacturers this USB flash drive, please use sudo apt-get install rsync install rsync packages, or use zip files in the deb package.
To use a command / mnt, to copy all the files / media / USB, using rsync-av / mnt / / media / USB / instructions to:
6. Copy End after entering / media / USB directory, just to extract the zip file / media / USB /, after the completion of ls command can be identified:

7. If the above Eee PC manufacturers this USB flash drive, please use sudo apt-get install mtools syslinux installed mtools and syslinux package, or use zip files in the deb package, and then you can use syslinux / dev/sdc1 command USB Flash can be set to boot, with tables of Linux, then please use the appropriate method of installation syslinux.
(Note that if in Step 2 is not seen / dev/sdc1, please see the equipment with your name).
8. Finally the ISO file with the USB are unloaded out, with umount command:
9. Umount completed, with this USB flash drive boot can do XEPC.org major upgrade.
If it is using Windows to do so, the same way, are looking for tools to upgrade CD-ROM ISO file opened, the contents are copied to USB flash drives, and then in the terminals (cmd.exe), USB flash drive to the directory under (Assumption that E:), run syslinux E: command it.

I will come across c program on a memory card directly into a compiler executable file, Recalling the card in the implementation of inadequate access, found that the system automatically mount such a problem, can be changed manually mount spent, hungtsung your reference Look at.

Right, if the system automatically mount the USB / SD, will be configured to be inside the implementation, if you do not want to manually mount can be copied to other places syslinux.linux implement it. For example, cp syslinux.linux / root / copied to / root /, then finally to implement the change / root / syslinux.linux sdc1 it.
It should be noted that, use "mount" command to see your USB / SD real name of the equipment, not necessarily sdc1

How the EEE PC installed on Tor?
By Yongquan on Mar 23, 2008
I had installed the syslinux from the xepc server.
My device name for SDHC is / dev/sdb1.
In the console, the directory where I execute the syslinux is "eeepc-hung>". And I type "syslinux / dev/sdb1"
The response is "sh: mcopy: command not found"
I change the other SD card, and try so many ways as I can.
But I can not perform the boot loading on my SD card.
Please help me.
My gcin can not work, so I type English. It is a long way to learn Linux.
